Das Nachtsicht Festival 2025 wird in Zusammenarbeit mit der litauischen Kuratorin Agnė Bagdžiūnaitė und im Gespräch mit Kunstarbeiter*in Airi Triisberg aus Tallinn entwickelt und bringt Positionen aus den baltischen Ländern mit Positionen aus Stuttgart und der Umgebung zusammen.

Vor dem Hintergrund des anhaltenden Krieges und der politischen und kulturellen Konflikte in Europa ist dieses Kunstfestival eine kollektive Untersuchung von Nähe, Intimität und dem transformativen Potential des Zusammenseins. Hier ist die Beziehung sowohl Thema als auch Methode. Ob durch queere Verwandtschaft, kollektive Trauer, sinnliche Rituale oder geteilte Verwundbarkeit – das Festival stellt Kunst in den Vordergrund, die auf Nähe besteht und sich den Kräften widersetzt, die versuchen, zu trennen, zu schweigen oder zu kontrollieren. Dies ist nicht nur ein Fest, sondern eine Rückgewinnung: des Raums, der Körper, des Rechts, zu fühlen, zu berühren, zu begehren und Widerstand zu leisten – gemeinsam.

Das Team

Im Jahr 2016 gründeten Hannah Bickhoff, Christine Koschel, Sophia Sadžakov und Hannah Liya den gemeinnützigen Verein Nachtsicht e.V.
Auslöser der Initiative war der geteilte Wunsch, empowernde Freiräume abseits etablierter Institutionen zu eröffnen, kreative Allianzen zu schmieden und das Leben zusammen zu feiern. Damals noch im Studium, sind sie inzwischen als freiberufliche Künstlerinnen, als Winzerinnen, Kulturproduzentinnen und Kuratorinnen in Stuttgart, Köln, Leipzig und Chemnitz tätig. Ihre kollektive Arbeit speissen sich aus ihren jeweiligen Perspektiven, Berufserfahrungen und Begegnungen und unterliegen stetigen Aushandlungsprozessen.
Was sie fortlaufend verbindet, ist die Vision von und die Suche nach einem anregenden, intersektional feministischen und niedrigschwelligen, kulturellen Freiraum.

Agnė Bagdžiūnaitė is an artist, curator, and researcher whose practice weaves together people’s histories, feminist and queer ethnography, and critical theory. Her artistic work often engages with the textures of post-industrial life, tracing the invisible and embodied residues of labor. In recent years, she has focused on women’s work experiences during the Soviet era and the turbulent 1990s in Lithuania—uncovering intimate narratives within broader processes of social and political transition. Through installation, performance, and writing, Agnė explores the entanglements of gender, labor, and memory, revealing the layered and often contradictory dynamics of historical change.
As a curator, Agnė has worked on interdisciplinary and politically engaged projects that centre feminist and queer perspectives. She co-curated Obscene West (2022–2025), a long-term project at Kaunas Artists’ House exploring gender, sexuality, and cultural transformation in 1990s Lithuania through a series of exhibitions, performances, and discursive events. The project unfolded in three parts — In Honey, Naglis, and BMW — addressing feminist artistic practices, the emergence of queer culture, and constructions of masculinity in the post-Soviet landscape.
Currently, she is developing a new art and politics space in Kaunas—a context for thinking through complex and uncomfortable questions via artistic practices and critical dialogue.
For Nachtsicht 2025, she approaches the curatorial theme Breathing Through Salt Water through the lens of embodied histories and the politics of persistence. Her curatorial stance centres on practices that trace how bodies carry memory, move across ruptured geographies, and relate to place through vulnerability, displacement, and care—insisting on softness and relation as forms of resistance.
